Cardiff ‘Come Out And Play’ LGBT Health and Human Rights Conference ran over three days from the 31st August until Friday 2nd September and led nicely into the Cardiff Mardi Gras event on Saturday. There were a range of speakers and workshops and I was delighted to have two submissions accepted – the first (Friday 2nd at 12:10pm) for organisations entitled “Why bother with LGBT Equality: a carrot and stick workshop for organisations” which looked at how homophobic workplaces impact on health and performance of employees and what organisations need to know to change this. The second was later that day entitled “Transgender Identities: broadending understanding, widening the bandwidth” which offered new perspectives on transgender as a valid identity in its own right. Both workshops were 45 minutes duration and a PDF version of the annotated slides and notes is available to participants.
